NCC Employee Wins Arlington Transportation Partners Raffle, Attends Nationals Game

On Wednesday, September 18, an NCC team member had the pleasure of attending the Washington Nationals-Atlanta Braves game at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., her prize for winning a raffle held by Arlington Transportation Partners (ATP).  Eligibility for the raffle was determined by participation in Bike to Work Day as part of ATP’s inaugural Workplace Commute Champions Awards program.

It was a beautiful night at the ballpark, and although the Nationals lost the game, our NCC representative still made the most of the night, enjoying time with other winners and ATP staff, posing for pictures with the Nationals president mascots, and taking home some goodies including a pair of Nationals headphones.

Along with Bike to Work Day, several NCCers participated in ATP’s Walk@Lunch on April 24.  In addition to joining in events affiliated with ATP, NCC employees have stayed active through our own Get Fit program, as we’ve tracked our miles running, walking, swimming, and even canoeing our way around the National Capital Region each of the last two summers.

On May 31st, ATP’s Pinky Advani spoke at our Partner Showcase in our headquarters, encouraging employees to use alternative forms of transportation to and from work instead of the traditional driving method, highlighting D.C.’s many options of commuting including Metro, busses, walking, and biking.

We look forward to continuing our support of ATP in their advocacy efforts, and to creating a better and healthier future together through Get Fit and other outdoor/fitness related activities.
