NCC Employees, Family, and Pets Gather for Summer Picnic
The heat and humidity that unfailingly arrive in the DC area each summer is certainly no picnic. But despite it being a typically sticky night, July 15th was a picnic for NCC. That evening, we gathered at Bluemont Park in Arlington for our 6th annual summer picnic. The high temperatures didn’t deter us from enjoying an evening of food, games, a movie, and the company of our colleagues.
The festivities began with volleyball, Frisbee, and a highly competitive game of Jenga. After our physical and mental endeavors, we worked up an appetite for barbecue courtesy of by Red, Hot, and Blue. Songs with summer themes blared from speakers while we scarfed down the tasty BBQ.
After dinner, we watched the original Ghostbusters movie – chosen by employee vote – projected on a big screen under the picnic pavilion.
A noticeable difference between our first company picnic in 2011 and this year’s gathering is the tremendous growth of the NCC family. This is reflected not only by the number of employees, but the addition of young children and dogs who joined the fun for this year’s NCC picnic. Our employees’ love for our furry friends mirrors NCC’s support over the past few years for organizations like Hero Dogs, Inc. and Greyhound Rescue, Inc.
We had a wonderful time celebrating the middle of summer, enjoying some time together out of the office. We look forward to more company outings in the near future, including our yearly holiday party in December.
