NCC Enjoys its 3rd Annual Summer Picnic

Picnic group

On Sunday, July 28th, NCC employees, family, and friends gathered at Arlington’s Bluemont Park for our 3rd annual summer picnic.  We enjoyed a beautiful, comfortable afternoon; a welcome change from the sweltering heat of our two previous picnics.

We indulged in tasty food items including hot dogs, hamburgers, homemade pickles, pasta salad, and several desserts.  We participated in a trivia game, water balloon toss, and other competitions of brains and brawn.  Additionally, a raffle was held, sending a few lucky picnickers home with a variety of gift cards.

NCC’s creativity was put to the test during our first-ever Spam-carving competition.  The winning “sculpture” was “Man in a Bathtub,” something likely never imprinted into America’s “miracle in a can.”  This was certainly a feast for the eyes rather than the taste buds, but proved to be a crowd pleaser nonetheless.

Along with our annual winter holiday party, various happy hour events, Walk4Hearing, and numerous volunteer opportunities with our non-profit partner organizations, the NCC Summer Picnic has proven to be an excellent way for employees from all of our service divisions – both in headquarters and our off-site employees – to bond outside of the work environment and enjoy a summer afternoon in the park.  We look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.
