NCC Participates in its 5th Walk4Hearing
On Sunday, November 3, several NCC employees enjoyed a crisp, sunny fall day at the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. for Hearing Loss Association of America’s (HLAA) Annual Walk4Hearing. We were excited to join the Walk for a fifth year, four of which NCC has served as a sponsor.
We geared up for the Walk with snacks and drinks, after which Walk4Hearing Director Ronnie Adler spoke about the mission of the Walk before she acknowledged the top fundraisers. The Walk took us around the Tidal Basin, as we passed by the Jefferson Memorial and enjoyed the clear views of the Washington Monument and Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.
Walk4Hearing supports an array of programs that assist the hearing-impaired community, raising awareness and working to remove the stigma associated with hearing loss. NCC’s sponsorship and active participation in the Walk4Hearing replicates our enduring commitment to providing a number of critical services to the hearing-impaired community, including real-time captioning, open and closed caption videos, and Computer Assisted Realtime Translation (CART) through our LiveWriteTM application.
To date, NCC has raised nearly $2,000, which we’ve tracked on our team page. Over $1.3 million has been raised by Walk4Hearing nationally in 2013, over $54,000 of which came via the D.C. Walk4Hearing. We are proud to be an annual sponsor and active participant in the Walk4Hearing, in addition to continually providing several critical services to create a better experience for those with hearing loss.
Donations are still being accepted through the Walk4Hearing website; we ask you to please donate to Team NCC here. We congratulate HLAA on another successful year of the Walk, and we look forward to our sixth Walk and fifth year of sponsorship in 2014!
