NCC Provides Captioning Services for Screen on the Green
NCC has been pleased to provide captioning services for Screen on the Green, the annual summer movie festival held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on Monday nights between July 22nd and August 12th.
One of our expert captioners generates highly accurate and easily-visible streaming text in realtime, ensuring each feature presentation is accessible to every movie lover who gathers at the Mall. The captions are synched to the movie’s sound and clearly displayed on a plasma screen in a production tent that sits directly in line with the Mall’s big screen.
NCC has provided captioning for the first three movies that make up this year’s festival: “E.T.”, “Norma Rae”, and “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”. We will again be on hand to provide this service for “Tootsie”, starring Dustin Hoffman, for Screen on the Green’s final showing of the season on Monday, August 12th, at 7:00 p.m.
We began offering real-time captioning, upon our inception in 2002, to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Today, it remains among our core service offerings; we generate closed caption files, open caption videos and DVDs, as well as Computer Aided Realtime Translation (CART) services to several clients including the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Furthermore, NCC has served as a sponsor and participated in Hearing Loss Association of America’s Walk4Hearing every year since 2009.
Now in its 15th year, Screen on the Green is a wonderful opportunity to view classic movies in the picturesque setting of the National Mall. We are proud to create a better experience for those who attend Screen on the Green, and we encourage you grab your blankets and lawn chairs, and come out to enjoy the final showing of this year’s festival on August 12th.
