NCC Provides Logistics Support for 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee Meeting

Conference Attendees

On June 13th and 14th, NCC was pleased to provide on-site logistics support for the first meeting of the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC), at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

Two Conference and Peer Review Management (CPRM) associates were on site to provide logistical and administrative assistance to over 110 DGAC staff and participants who were in attendance, helping to ensure the proceedings ran seamlessly.

In addition to supporting DGAC at the meeting itself, our team performed program management tasks in the days leading up to the event, including attending weekly planning meetings with committee staff, and setting up and managing a website for registration of on-site attendees and webinar participants.

Secretary Kathleen Sebelius of Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Secretary Tom Vilsack of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) formally announced the committee in May in preparation for the joint-agency publication.  DGAC’s “recommendations and rationale will serve as a basis for the eighth edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.”  The Guidelines, updated every five years, are provided for  “Americans ages 2 years and over, including those at increased risk of chronic disease, and provide the basis for federal food and nutrition policy and education initiatives.”

NCC was privileged to create a better meeting experience for the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee and other event participants.  Our CPRM team looks forward to again providing a high level of logistical and administrative support for DGAC at its next meeting, on October 3rd and 4th.

We are proud to facilitate the Committee in creating and delivering a GOOD future for the American people through critical health and nutrition recommendations.
