NCC Provides Transcription Support for DDOT’s Anacostia Waterfront Initiative Event

AWI

On Monday, January 14th, an NCC Multimedia Solutions associate provided on-site transcription support at the South Capitol Street Corridor Project Industry Day event held in Matthews Memorial Baptist Church in Southeast Washington, DC.

The public meeting discussion was centered on the District Department of Transportation’s (DDOT) Anacostia Waterfront Initiative, which focuses on improving accessibility, safety, and economic development from the neighborhoods around Nationals Park  in Southeast DC, across the Anacostia River to the area along Suitland Parkway.

Our associate arrived at the church well in advance of the 10 a.m. meeting start time to set up and test recording equipment, coordinate with the meeting organizers, and prepare for note-taking.  DDOT representatives spoke about the project to more than 220 meeting attendees, detailing the upcoming developments that will include renovating the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge, adding traffic ovals both east and west of the Anacostia River, and bicycle and pedestrian travel improvements among other enhancements.  DDOT is committed to visually maintaining Pierre Charles L’Enfant’s original historic design plan as part of the South Capitol Street Corridor Project, for which all renovations and construction are expected to conclude in 2018.

Our Multimedia Solutions team diligently completed the significant task of generating the verbatim transcription upon the conclusion of the Industry Day event.  All DDOT staff presentations and public comments were captured on record, which will enable the key stakeholders to review and discuss the proceedings as they move forward with this critical project.

It is our privilege to play a small part in the work DDOT is doing to facilitate the responsible growth and improvement of the roads and bridges along the South Capitol Street Corridor, aligning with our own company’s mission to ethically and honorably deliver a GOOD future to our own growing community of respected clients and non-profit organizations.
