Since 1979, Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) has provided assistance and resources to people with hearing loss and their families, serving as the leading organization in representing the 48 million hearing-impaired Americans.  Since 2006, nearly 60,000 people have walked in HLAA’s Annual Walk4Hearing, raising more than $9 million for programs and services benefitting those with hearing loss.

On Saturday, October 24th, at 10:00 a.m., Team NCC will converge on the Sylvan Theater stage adjacent to the Washington Monument to participate in the Washington, D.C. Walk4Hearing for the seventh consecutive year, doing our part to deliver a GOOD future to those affected by hearing loss.  The annual 5k walk takes place every spring and fall in nearly 20 locations across the country.

Our team will push to help the DC Walk4Hearing reach its goal of $65,000; the total currently stands at nearly $28,000.  Our progress can be tracked on the Team NCC page on the Walk4Hearing website.

After the opening ceremonies at the Sylvan Theater Stage, we’ll begin our route, which will bring us up close and personal with some of the most aesthetically pleasing sites that D.C. has to offer, including the Washington Monument, the Smithsonian Castle, the National Sculpture Garden, and the Reflecting Pool.

The funds raised by Walk4Hearing support a wide variety of programs that assist the hearing-impaired community while working to eliminate the stigma related to hearing loss.  NCC’s annual participation in the Walk4Hearing exemplifies our longstanding commitment to providing important Language & Text services to the hearing-impaired community, including real-time captioning, open and closed caption videos, and CART through our LiveWriteTM application.

We are honored to participate in the 2015 Walk4Hearing for the seventh occasion.  We’re pleased that our donations and range of services have helped make communication and collaboration happen for those affected by hearing loss.

If you’d like to donate to HLAA through Team NCC, please visit our team page.  We hope you’ll join on us for the 10th Annual Walk4Hearing on October 24th!
