NCC Supports Food for Others in its Partnership with Mosaic Market
NCC is proud to announce our support of Food for Others, a Northern Virginia food bank which serves the National Capital Region. Specifically, NCC’s grant will enable the food bank to purchase fresh local produce, meats, dairy, and more from the new Mosaic Central Farm Market in Fairfax, for distribution to local families in need. On Sunday, May 4, NCC’s Vice President of Finance Tony Anzilotti will have the honor of being part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Mosaic Market, officially launching the partnership of NCC, Food for Others, and the Market.
NCC President and CEO Chris Marquez appreciates the opportunity to work with a generous organization like Food for Others, stating, “I am delighted to help people in the Northern Virginia community who lack access to high quality food as well as assist the local farmers. When we help each other, our community grows even stronger.”
Founded in 1995, Food for Others assists Northern Virginia families by providing food to the growing number of working poor who need supplemental food items to support their families. Most of the food that Food for Others receives is through drives or food rescue operations.
The Mosaic Farm Market was founded by Mitch Berliner, who’s been sprouting up farm markets since the early ‘70s. The Mosaic Market will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every Sunday from May through November. Fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and other products will be offered by a several local vendors including Ah Love Oil & Vinegar, Bending Bridge Farm, Capital Teas, Oh! Mercy Hot Sauce, Sweet Belly Cookies, the Westmoreland Berry Farm, and many more.
NCC joined the fight against hunger two years ago, when we began our partnership with the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), a generous organization that, like Food for Others, provides a wide range of nutritious produce, meats, breads, and beverages to local families in need.
NCC is happy to include Food for Others among the important community organizations we support, as we help to deliver a GOOD future to the families in which it serves. Furthermore, we look forward to participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Mosaic Market, and we hope you’ll join us there on May 4th!
