NCC Supports HLAA’s Walk4Hearing
On Sunday, November 4, NCC will proudly participate in the Hearing Loss Association of America’s Walk4Hearing in Washington, DC. Since 2009, our employees, their families, and friends have taken part in the event. NCC is honored to be a three-year sponsor of the DC Walk4Hearing, which is one of more than 20 taking place nationwide.
The Washington, D.C. Walk4Hearing is a 3.1-mile walk around the picturesque Tidal Basin, a short distance from the Washington Monument. Event participants will enjoy food, music, and entertainment prior to beginning the walk at 11 a.m.
Since the first Walk4Hearing in 2006, more than 26,000 walkers have helped raise both awareness and money for the HLAA. The proceeds are distributed to national and local programs benefitting the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, including funding for hearing aids and the installation of hearing assistive technology in public places.
Having provided captioning services and promoting accessibility in communication since our inception in 2002, NCC is proud to join in supporting the mission of the Walk4Hearing. Last year, we raised more than $2,500 through our fundraising efforts. This year, our goal is to double that amount.
