NCC to Attend and Award Scholarship at Annual CelebrAsian Event

USPAACC

What do MasterCard, OfficeMax, PepsiCo, Zappos, and NCC all have in common?  These five companies, along with approximately 1.5 million other businesses in the U.S., are run by Asian-American CEOs.  NCC, led by our half-Korean President and CEO Chris Marquez, is proud to be part of a growing number of those 1.5 million in being a member of the  United States Pan-Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC).  For a third consecutive year, we are happy to announce that we will attend the organization’s CelebrAsian Procurement Opportunity Conference.  We will play a significant role in this year’s event, which takes place June 2-4 in Tysons Corner; we will serve as a sponsor for the conference and a USPAACC scholarship, and NCC President and CEO Chris Marquez will serve as an emcee for the CelebrAsian Excellence Awards Dinner gala, in addition to participating in the conference’s “Supplier Success Stories” Panel.

The National Capitol Contracting LLC Hallmark Scholarship is one of 19 that will be awarded at the 2014 CelebrAsian.  Over 3,000 applications from Asian American high school seniors are received annually for the USPAACC scholarships, which were first awarded in 1989.  At last year’s event in Garden Grove, CA, NCC’s Vice President of Operations Lorene Eberhardt personally presented the award to our scholarship recipient.

“Our association with USPAACC has introduced us to new business opportunities, enabled us to network with other Asian-owned businesses, and provided another avenue to give back to our community,” Chris notes.  “We greatly value the relationship we have built with USPAACC, and I’m personally honored to have been asked to emcee the opening night festivities.”  He also appreciates NCC’s opportunity to sponsor one of USPAACC’s scholarships, saying, “We believe that the USPAACC/NCC Scholarship award will help a graduating high school senior who has encountered significant adversity to have the opportunity to attend college and find success in his or her life.”

USPAACC is the nation’s largest non-profit, non-partisan organization representing Asian American-related groups in business, education, sciences, the arts, sports, and public and community services.  Its mission is to work with its members to attain successful contracting relationships and development in the marketplace.  We began our affiliation with USPAACC in 2011 and were honored as one of its “Fast 50 Asian American Businesses” in each of the last two years.

We look forward to attending our third CelebrAsian, and for a second straight year we are privileged to play a role in helping deliver a GOOD future by creating a better experience for a deserving high school senior when we present the scholarship award at next week’s CelebrAsian.
