NCC to Attend, Serve as Sponsor for NIH’s An Evening for Hope
As snow was falling in the Mid-Atlantic Region halfway through March, one could only dream about relaxing in warmth and sunshine, laying by the pool with a cold drink in hand, perhaps even enjoying championship golf courses, tennis, and a fitness center. That dream could become the reality this summer for the raffle winner at NIH’s An Evening for Hope, as the lucky winner will be headed to the Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Springs.
The raffle is just one of the reasons to support the 4th annual gala, which takes place on April 29th at the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, and supports the Children’s Inn at NIH. NCC has served as a sponsor for the first three years of the event, and we are thrilled to be the “Valet Sponsor” this year.
The funds raised at An Evening for Hope will go directly to the Children’s Inn, a “place like home” for children with serious medical needs. The Children’s Inn was established in 1990, and since that time nearly 12,000 children and their families from all 50 states and 94 countries have stayed – free of charge – at the Inn. After spending their days in treatment at NIH, the children return to the Children’s Inn to spend time with their families and the compassionate staff and volunteers, participating in recreational and educational activities.
An Evening for Hope features a silent auction, welcome reception, dinner, dancing, and the raffle for the Palm Springs getaway.
We are grateful to serve as a sponsor for An Evening for Hope for a fourth straight year. We have had the privilege of enabling communication and collaboration for numerous organizations within NIH since our inception in 2002, doing our part to support the vital research that leads to treatments given to the children who visit NIH and the Children’s Inn each year.
As a nonprofit organization, the Children’s Inn raises its own funds in order to provide free accommodations and support for the families that visit; there are several ways to give to the Children’s Inn, and we ask you to consider donating by visiting its website. You can also purchase a raffle ticket online (you do not have to be present at the event to win), and follow @TheChildrensInn on Twitter for updates before, during, and after An Evening for Hope.
