NCC to be a Sponsor for NIH’s Children’s Inn Gala in March
NCC is pleased to be a Welcome Reception sponsor for the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) 15th Annual Children’s Inn Gala on Saturday, March 23rd, in Washington, D.C. The event, which has raised more than $5 million since it began in 1999, benefits the Children’s Inn at NIH, a residential “place like home” for ill children and their families from all over the world.
The Children’s Inn opened in 1990, in Bethesda, MD, as a means of offering pediatric patients and their families a comforting environment in which to stay at no cost while the children receive innovative medical treatments from the world’s leading biomedical research center. While the NIH treatments address medical needs, the children’s emotional and social needs are tended to as they return each day to The Inn to participate in fun activities with family, staff, volunteers, and other children who are dealing with critical health issues.
The Gala, which will be emceed by Cokie Roberts of ABC News and NPR, features dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions, and raffles, while raising awareness for the Children’s Inn’s mission of keeping “children together with their families during serious illness, reducing their stress, and facilitating healing through mutual support.”
We are thrilled to include The Children’s Inn among the local non-profit organizations which we support. As a provider of real-time captioning, transcription, webcasting, audiovisual, and information technology services to the NIH since our launch in 2002, we are grateful at the opportunity to facilitate the organization turning research into actual treatments; and furthermore, to be able to take part in creating a better experience for the many children and families that visit The Children’s Inn each day.
