NCC to Serve as Sponsor for “An Evening for Hope”
A Buddy 50cc scooter is a smooth ride and full of modern features. However, when it’s given a custom paint job it truly becomes the total package. Earlier this month, a unique paint job was given to a Buddy scooter in the form of dozens of colorful hand prints from several youngsters of the Children’s Inn at NIH, a “place like home” for children with serious medical needs. Now the vibrant scooter is ready to be raffled off to one lucky attendee of the 3rd Annual An Evening for Hope Gala benefiting the Children’s Inn.
The annual event takes place on Saturday, May 7th, at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons, Corner, VA. For the third consecutive year, NCC is honored to serve as a sponsor – second straight as a Welcome Reception Sponsor – for the Gala.
The Children’s Inn opened its doors in 1990, and since that time nearly 12,000 children and their families from all 50 states and 86 countries have stayed – free of charge – at the Inn. After spending their days in treatment at NIH, the children return to the Children’s Inn to enjoy time with their families and the compassionate staff and volunteers, participating in recreational and educational activities.
This year’s Gala features a performance by political satirists, the Capitol Steps, who return after entertaining attendees at least year’s Evening for Hope. The evening also includes an auction, welcome reception, dinner, dancing, and finally the raffle for the colorful custom-painted scooter.
We are grateful to serve as a sponsor for An Evening for Hope for a third straight year, as we do our part in helping to create a better experience for the children and families who stay at the Children’s Inn. We have had the privilege of making communication and collaboration happen® for numerous organizations within NIH, playing our role in supporting the important research that leads to treatments given to the children who visit NIH and the Children’s Inn each year.
As a nonprofit organization, the Children’s Inn is responsible for raising its own funds in order to provide free accommodations and support for the families that visit; there are a number of ways to give to the Children’s Inn, and we ask you to consider donating by visiting its website. You can follow @TheChildrensInn on Twitter for updates about the Gala.
