Real-time Captioning & Post-Production Support for Defense Media Activity

Pentagon

NCC’s captioning capabilities will soon be experienced around the globe!  We are proud to announce a new Language & Text Solutions and Multimedia Production & Distribution contract with the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Defense Media Activity (DMA) and its affiliate stations located in the U.S., Germany, Japan, and Korea.  Our team of expert captioners will primarily be responsible for accurate real-time captioning support for DoD’s internal broadcasts, town halls, news programming, and a range of other events for domestic and international viewers covering 177 countries and 279 Navy ships as sea.  In addition, our knowledgeable and experienced post-production team will generate captioned videos, including first run movies and a variety of other quality programming, for our overseas troops to enjoy on the Armed Forces Network.

We began providing real-time captioning for DMA in 2014 on an as-needed basis, which included the Hall of Heroes Induction Ceremony, the Secretary of the Navy Town Hall, and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CSAF) Prisoners of War event for The Pentagon Channel (TPC).  We’re thrilled to now regularly provide the organization with reliable services and support over the life of this new contract.  We anticipate supporting up to five events each day at 25 hours per week, along with providing 24/7/365 coverage and short-notice support for broadcast and streaming events.

We are pleased to build on our longstanding support of a wide variety of DoD projects including real-time captioning for the Medal of Honor Ceremony and the 9/11 Observance for Pentagon Personnel, IT support for the High-Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPC), preventative maintenance with the Washington Headquarters Services, and several others since we began supporting DoD in 2006.

Established in 2007, the Defense Media Activity is the DoD’s direct line of communication for news and information to American forces worldwide on land, sea, and air.  It broadcasts news, information, and entertainment through a variety of media channels including radio, TV, Internet, print, and other emerging media technologies.

We are excited to be making communication and collaboration happen® for the DMA, as we provide accurate captioning to ensure a maximum audience can fully participate and enjoy its broadcasts.
