AV and Multimedia Support for HHS OSDBU’s “Getting Back 2 Business”

ABC’s Shark Tank has become one of the most popular television shows in the country, drawing more than 7 million viewers per episode last season.  The show features entrepreneurs pitching their business or products to a panel of some of the world’s most prominent businesspeople (“sharks”) – including eccentric Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban – and upon hearing the pitch, the panel decides whether to invest in the entrepreneur or not.

Every year, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) hosts “Getting Back 2 Business”, which is its own version – albeit a less intimidating one – of Shark Tank.  “Getting Back 2 Business” is held in multiple cities and offers small businesses an opportunity to connect with representatives from HHS (no, Mark Cuban is not one of them), other federal agencies, and prime HHS contractors.

When HHS OSDBU held the event in Fairfax, VA earlier this summer, NCC was honored that the organization called on us to provide a variety of services.   Our team of experienced AV and multimedia associates provided a 3-camera shoot for the event, along with a live webcast, transcription, and captioning.  After the event, we edited the entire day’s video down to small segments and put together a brief highlight video (shown below).

We’ve had the honor of supporting several “Getting Back 2 Business” conferences in recent years, including last year in Washington, DC.

“Getting Back 2 Business” gives attendees the opportunity to learn about the processes associated with federal contracting, resources available from the U.S. Small Business Administration, and identify contract opportunities with HHS.  There are also several networking opportunities and matchmaking sessions.

As a small business ourselves – and one that supports dozens of government agencies – we recognize the importance of events like “Getting Back 2 Business” for companies that would like to work with HHS and other federal organizations.

We were proud to expand our range of support for this year’s HHS OSDBU’s “Getting Back 2 Business” event, continually making communication and collaboration® happen for this respected organization.
