NCC Attends, Sponsors NIH’s “An Evening for Hope”
On Saturday, May 2nd, several NCC associates had the honor of joining more than 175 guests at An Evening for Hope, NIH’s 2nd Annual event to benefit The Children’s Inn, “a place like home” where seriously ill children and their families can stay free of charge during the course of the children’s treatments at NIH. We proudly served as a Welcome Reception Sponsor, our second year as a sponsor.
This year’s event, held at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, raised an astounding total of nearly $700,000 for the Children’s Inn. Several of the families who have stayed at the Inn took the stage to discuss their experiences (see an example of one family’s journey). Additionally, acclaimed political satirists The Capitol Steps performed; delicious food and wine were served; and a large selection of artwork crafted by children who have stayed at Inn, plus sports memorabilia, jewelry, kids toys, and much more were auctioned off.
The Children’s Inn was founded in 1990, and nearly 13,000 seriously ill children and their families have made over 50,000 visits to the Inn since it first opened its doors. After their day of treatments, the children return to the Children’s Inn to simply enjoy being kids where they can participate in recreational and educational activities with their families and caring staff and volunteers.
We have had the privilege of making communication and collaboration happen® for NIH since 2002 by providing Virtual Meeting & Live Event Support, Language & Text Solutions, Unified Communications, and Technology Services & Support for numerous offices within the agency. We are proud to perform a variety of services that support the significant research that leads to treatments at NIH each day.
We were thrilled to again be part of a significant and generous event like An Evening for Hope, and we look forward to next year’s occasion. We ask you to please consider making a donation to the Children’s Inn by visiting its website.
