NCC Takes Part in Arlington Hunger Relief
On Monday, January 21st, NCC’s Vice President of Operations Lorene Eberhardt spent the morning at Cherrydale Baptist Church’s Arlington Hunger Relief event, preparing meals for local-area residents in need.
Ms. Eberhardt, along with more than 100 volunteers mostly made up of Arlington-area church youth groups, donned hairnets and worked together in mini assembly-line groups to bag approximately 61,000 meals of nutritious rice, beans, and vegetables, surpassing the event’s goal of 50,000. Furthermore, 30,000 of these meals were delivered to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), an organization that NCC has happily supported since April 2012.
In addition to participating in the Arlington Hunger Relief event, NCC employees have bagged and crated fruits and vegetables at AFAC’s food distribution center and contributed food items to AFAC’s Thanksgiving and winter food drives.
NCC is proud to play an active role in the communities in which we live and work, as we continue to deliver GOOD into everything we do. We look forward to many more volunteer events like Arlington Hunger Relief in the future.
