NCC to Serve as Sponsor for NIH Children’s Inn’s An Evening for Hope Gala
In the midst of this early spring, which has felt more like early winter here in the National Capital Region, we could all use a vacation to a warmer locale. If you participate in NIH’s An Evening for Hope raffle, you will have a chance to win two JetBlue roundtrip travel vouchers in the U.S. or select Caribbean and South American countries, and more importantly your entire raffle ticket purchase will benefit the Children’s Inn at NIH.
The raffle prize is just one aspect of this fantastic annual event, which takes place on April 28th at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner; a silent auction, VIP reception, dinner, several speeches, and an after-party are all included in the program. NCC has had the privilege of serving as a sponsor for An Evening for Hope for the first four years of the event and will proudly be the “Valet Sponsor” for this year.
The money raised at An Evening for Hope will go directly to the Children’s Inn, a “place like home” for children with serious illnesses. The Children’s Inn was founded in 1990, and since that time nearly 13,000 children and their families from all 50 states and nearly 100 countries have stayed – free of charge – at the Inn. After spending their days in treatment at NIH, the children return to the Children’s Inn to be with their families and the compassionate staff and volunteers, to participate in a variety of educational and fun activities.
In addition to serving as a sponsor for An Evening for Hope for the fifth consecutive year, NCC has been honored to be involved in many Children’s Inn activities, including the Thoughtful Treasures initiative, A WINNter Affair, and the Children’s Inn Gala, among others. NCC’s relationship with the NIH goes all the way back to the founding of our company in 2002, when we first provided realtime captioning services. Since that time, we have added transcription, webcasting, AV and technology, and live event support for the NIH, enabling communication and collaboration for several organizations within the Institute as they perform research to develop treatments for the children who visit the NIH and the Children’s Inn.
We look forward to An Evening for Hope on April 28th, and we are honored to serve as a sponsor for this important night. We encourage you to purchase a raffle ticket here (you do not need to be present at An Evening for Hope to win) or donate to the Children’s Inn by visiting its website.
